So believe it or not, metal swirls all around us! Driving down the road, wind or metal dust all over your tool bench! Our NuSnap, being stainless and magnetic will attract this atmospheric metal dust after a while. This can cause what's called tea staining.        WHAT IS TEA STAINING?
Tea staining is discoloration of the surface of stainless steel. It is a cosmetic issue that does not affect the structural integrity or the lifetime of the material. We recommend when installing to keep the parts away from areas that may have stray metallic metal dust such as work benches and keep the parts in the plastic until installed. 

Cleaning tea staining is simple, use any general purpose citric cleaner like "Zepp" to wipe down the parts when cleaning your boat. Do not use anything that contains bleach! That's it, easy peasy!
