N52 Neodymium Magnets Locked in a Stainless Steel Vault That is 2x the corrosion resistance than Standard Marine Grade
Demand Lifetime - Demand Strength Demand NuSnaps
Our magnetic fastening snaps are built to withstand the elements. NuSnaps products are engineered for durability and are 2X stronger and 2X more resistant to corrosion than the standard Marine Grade 316 stainless steel boat snaps. Even in the toughest conditions, our Magnetic fastening systems out preform! We have encased the N52 Neodymium magnets in a better than marine grade specialized stainless steel vault to prevent corrosion. Our magnetic snaps are designed to last the lifetime of your boat in all conditions. Self seating & releasing fasteners that will extend the life of your upholstery and pay for themselves. When its time to eventually re-upholster, simply uninstall your NuSnaps and reinstall them on the new cushions. Engineered to last the life of your boat, not your cushion.

Why Choose NuSnaps?
*Never except "Last up to #seasons?", Demand lifetime stainless
Our product is not a dipped coating or a plastic cover but an actual milled & lathed solid stainless steel hermetically sealed vault that the magnets are placed in. The actual magnet will never see the elements like salt water, oxygen, humidity etc. NuSnaps are engineered to be installed and uninstalled for the life of the boat not your cushion.
*Never accept "They are really strong, trust us!", Demand the actual pull strength specifications (The lightest wind loads are on a bow of a boat, the highest wind loads are where the wind is exiting at the rear of the boat. Check out our last video on this page showing in real time NuSnaps holding cushions at +60MPH on the rear bench seat cushions where wind loads are triple than that of what the bow cushions see.
Ours have 14lbs of pull force per Flush Mount snap!!! 12lbs of pull force per Surface Mount snap!!!
*Never accept "flat surface to flat surface magnetic systems", Demand an interlocking system that not only uses pull strength but locks in for shear strength as well.
Shear strength is the maximum stress a magnet can tolerate before it permanently slides or fails due to forces acting parallel to its surface. The ratio of magnetic shear strength to pull strength is typically a fraction of the pull strength, generally ranging from 10% to 30% of the pull strength, so flat to flat systems will slide back and forth or side to side easily.
Our patented interlock system creates shear strength that actually exceeds that of its pull strength. No sliding cushions here!
* Never accept systems that attach to your existing hardware
The point is to get rid of the outdated, prone to failure push snaps. Our surface mount system is easy. On the cushion, simply pop the neck through the hole and hand twist the cap on, done. On the boat, simply unscrew the old hardware and screw in the NuSnap with the included stainless screw into the existing hole. Done. Now the flush mount system requires a bit more work but still relatively easy for the average DYI people. Step by step directions are on this page but if you need any help or have questions we are only a phone call away and love helping people with their projects.
So please, shop around and look to see if these demands are being met on other systems. We here at NuSnaps demand one thing of ourselves. Rather than meet the standard or set the bar, "Be the bar, anything less than excellence is failure!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
N52 Neodymium Magnets Encased in a Stainless Steel Vault!!!
Our product is not a dipped coating but an actual milled & lathed solid stainless steel vault.
As seen in this video: That is not edited, turn the volume on and you can hear the hands free NuSnap securing the cushion!
14lbs pull force on the Flush Mount snap!!! 12lbs pull force on the Surface Mount snap!!! Can be installed on any vertical or horizontal surface.
First video is utilizing the "Flush Mount NuSnap" to secure the cushion. Second video is close-up of the "Flush Mount NuSnap".
NuSnaps are designed to snap and unsnap to your cushion. When its time for new cushions or your going to reupholster, simply unsnap and re-snap to your new cushions. These snaps are meant to last the lifetime of your boat so your only buying them once! Don't be duped by "not so cheap" nickel or epoxy coated knock-offs that are not corrosion proof, very brittle and you will need to replace every season! Our magnets are set in a better than marine grade stainless steel vault so it never see's the elements that cause corrosion or cracking.
All cushions require ample amount of snaps to secure them to the deck. With all cushions being different, a rule of thumb guide is a 12"x18" seat cushion would require (4) one snap in each corner like the four configuration on dice. A 24"x48" seat cushion would require (6) one snap in each corner, one center front and one center back, like the six configuration on dice. All boats have different high wind areas at speed so after installation on the initial run, it is recommended that you monitor the cushions at speed to see if there is any uplift or cupping at each cushion. For example, cushions that face high wind situations such as aft bench seating may require extra placement of snaps on the windward side to ensure wind does not get under the cushion and cause up draft cupping. We recommend snaps not be more than 12-16 inches apart for the Surface Mount Snaps and 16-18 inches for the Flush Mount Snaps on high windward sides of the cushion.

Surface Mount NuSnap
The spring rush has put Surface Mounts on backorder! Flush Mounts are still available. Please email us to get on the production list. Thank you!
This video shows the surface mount system.
Tip: Most boats with existing snaps you just need to uninstall the old snap hardware and using the same holes replace with your NuSnaps hardware. Done! (This is assuming your original snaps were installed in the correct locations, we recommend surface mount snaps not be more than 12-16 inches apart on high windward sides of the cushion)
If this is a new install or not using the existing holes from the original snaps:
Attention: If your cushion has both horizontal and vertical mounting snaps, pay close attention to the sequence below on marking and drilling the different surface holes. Failure to do so will cause vertical holes to be misaligned.
Step#1: Install all your NuSnap Magsnaps to your cushion.
Step#2: place the cushion with the NuSnaps installed exactly where you intend to place it on the boat, with a wax pencil, trace the outer edge of only the "Horizontal Surface" cushion snaps on to the boat. (Do not trace vertical surface snaps at this time if you have them).
Step#3: With a stainless steel 82 degree #8 x 3/4" long flathead screw, only attach the "Horizontal" Surface Mount Anchor at the center mark. Screw must sit flush with anchor. Place cushion down to inshore fit.
Setp#4: With the cushion down and the horizontal NuSnap Magsnaps & Surface Mounts connected. With a wax pencil, trace the outer edge of the "Vertical Surface" cushion snaps on to the boat.
Step#5: With a stainless steel 82 degree #8 x 3/4" long flathead screw, attach the Vertical Surface Mount Anchor at the center mark. Screw must sit flush with anchor. Place cushion down to inshore fit. Done!

Recessed Flush Mount NuSnap
This Video shows the NuSnap flush mount system. This low-profile design sits flush with the surface in a 1-1/8th inch diameter, 5/16th inch depth counterbore. We recommend flush mount snaps not be more than 16-18 inches apart on high windward sides of the cushion.
See install directions video above.
Step#2: place the cushion with the NuSnaps installed exactly where you intend to place it on the boat, with a wax pencil, trace the outer edge of only the "Horizontal Surface" cushion snaps on to the boat. (Do not trace vertical surface snaps at this time if you have them).
Step#3: Drill the hole with a 1-1/8" Spade or forstner bit for the "Horizontal Surface" snaps only.
Note: (4th,5th & 6th steps are only if you have the vertical hang tab type cushion, If not skip to Step#7)
Setp#4: Temporarily Connect the Flush Mount Anchor to the cushion snaps. Place the cushion down with the horizontal NuSnap Magsnaps & Flush Mount sitting dry-fit in these newly drilled holes.
Step#5: with a wax pencil, trace the outer edge of the "Vertical Surface" cushion snaps on to the boat.
Step#6: Drill the holes with a 1-1/8" Spade or forstner bit for the "Vertical Surface" snaps.
Step#7: Put the cushion aside & apply 3M 4200 to the sidewalls of the flush mount anchors & insert into the boat side holes, wipe clean any excess, allow 48hrs to cure before attaching the cushion.
Tools Needed: Drill, 1-1/8" spade/forstner bit, 3M-4200, Wax Pencil.

Installation Tips:
Tip #1. If the fabric is thick, cut away access material and make the hole a little bigger than needed to get the snap stem through the fabric. Apply a "small dab of Blue Loctite (only use the blue loctite sparingly)" to the threads and screw dome cap to the magsnap to seat the button cap to the Mag-snap sandwiching the fabric in between.
Tip#2. Do not install the NuSnap Magsnaps close to any sewing seams. This may seat the NuSnap crooked and cause issues. Button Cap must sit flush with the Mag-Snap.
Tip#3. Use latex gloves, long sleeves and have a shop vac handy while drilling the Flush Mount holes. Fiberglass does not feel good on skin!!

NuSnaps 60mph+ Flush Mount Test
Video of a clients boat doing a test run +60mph with the NuSnap Flush Mounts installed. Cushions are fitted with 4 NuSnap Flush Mounts each. All boats are different when it comes to cushions under wind loads. After installation, please observe your cushions at speed to ensure the proper amount of NuSnaps are installed to secure the cushion for your boats top speed.
Please do your research! Neodymium is extremely corrosive and brittle! There are inferior products out there that are just "dipped" and claim to be corrosion resistant. Always ask if it is encased in stainless steel. If it is not, the magnet will rust and break in the near future when exposed to the elements. Always look at a products disclaimer & safety page. This is where they try to hide the dirty little secrets!!
